Each year on Holy Saturday during the Easter Vigil, thousands are baptized into the Catholic Church. Parishes welcome these new Catholics through the Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA). The RCIA program is a process developed by the Church for converts to the Holy Catholic Faith who are above the age of infant baptism. Candidates are gradually introduced to aspects of Catholic beliefs and practices over the course of several months leading the the recption of the sacraments on initiation during the Easter Vigil.
The Parish of Saint Mary, Mother of the Church provides the RCIA program to all desiring to come to know, love and follow the Lord Jesus by entering into full communion with the only Church He established on earth--the One, Holy, Roman, Catholic and Apostolic Church. If you have never been baptized or have been baptized in another Christian denomination, or have been baptized Catholic but have never received the Sacraments of Holy communion and/or Confirmation and you feel you are being called to something more in receiving the graces God imparts to the soul in these sacraments which strengthen us on the journey to Eternal Life, then the RCIA program at Saint Mary's is for you. You are welcome to explore that call with us. To register go to the Ministries tab and go to the RCIA page. Classes are once a week and will begin in September. For more information please call the Parish office at 896-6400.
