Sunday, May 31st is the Birthday of the Church Universal: Pentecost
As promised, on Pentecost- Jesus sent the Holy Spirit to the Apostles. The Holy Spirit came as a rushing wind that heralded tongues (flames) of fire appearing over the Apostles heads. They were empowered with the Holy Spirit and began immediately to speak and go out and preach the Good News of Jesus Christ. The were filled with the Holy Spirit. This began the Church- The Body of Christ in the world.
